CodaraFlow Capture Add-On Privacy

CodaraFlow Capture is a browser add-on, published by CodaraFlow (1000149725 Ontario Inc.; "we", "us"), that saves text you highlight on a web page to your firm’s CodaraFlow Knowledge or Guidance library. This notice covers the add-on only. What happens to text once it reaches your firm’s CodaraFlow is governed by your firm’s Subscription Agreement, and this website by its Website Terms and Privacy.

What the Add-On Reads

Only when you choose Add to CodaraFlow, from the right-click menu or the toolbar button, the add-on reads the text you have highlighted on that page, with its formatting, and the page’s title and address. Nothing else on the page is read. The add-on has no access to a page until you make that choice there, and it does not see your browsing history, your other tabs, or anything you type.

What It Keeps in Your Browser

  • Your firm’s CodaraFlow address, which you enter in the add-on’s settings, or which your firm’s IT sets for you.
  • A capture key, issued by your firm’s CodaraFlow when you connect the add-on, that lets it save to the library as you.
  • The selection you are about to save, held only while the capture window is open.

The address and the key are kept in your browser’s synced storage, so a browser where you are signed in to the same browser account shares them. Disconnect in the add-on’s settings removes the key from your browser; revoking it on the Capture Key page of your firm’s CodaraFlow ends it everywhere.

Where It Sends Information

Only to the CodaraFlow address you entered, and only when you connect the add-on or save a selection. A save sends the highlighted text, its formatting, the page’s title and address, and the title and category you give it. The add-on sends nothing to us or to anyone else: it has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. If your firm’s CodaraFlow is hosted by us, its server runs on Amazon Web Services in Canada on your firm’s behalf, under its Subscription Agreement.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent or share what the add-on handles, and it is used for one purpose only: saving the text you choose to your firm’s library. It is not used for advertising, for building profiles, or to decide creditworthiness or lending.

The Permissions It Asks For

  • Context menus: to add Add to CodaraFlow to the right-click menu.
  • Active tab and scripting: to read the highlighted text on the page you clicked, at the moment you click.
  • Storage: to keep your firm’s address and the capture key.
  • Access to your firm’s address: asked for when you connect, for that one address only, so the add-on can send your saves there.

Removing It

Removing the add-on from your browser deletes everything it keeps there. Text you have already saved stays in your firm’s library, where your firm manages it.
